Reading a Supplement Label Step by Step
Every Supplement Facts box follows a pattern. Read it in order and it makes sense. BreathiZen is our example.
Step one: the serving
Find the serving size and servings per container. BreathiZen lists four sprays as a serving, with 100 servings in a 2 oz bottle.
Step two: the blend
A proprietary blend gives one total weight and names its ingredients from the largest amount to the smallest. BreathiZen shows 154 mg of mullein leaf extract, ginger root extract and organic lemon extract.
Step three: other ingredients
This line lists supporting ingredients such as water, glycerin and natural flavors. People with allergies should read it carefully.
Step four: ask
